Greetings Synergists,

The sun is finally out which means only one thing in calgary, it must almost be july. June has been an unbelievable month for the club. We've been having great success all over the province...

Starting with the pigeon lake road race that happened on june 6th, the women were well represented with Caeli finishing 5th in the womens A/B combined category. The story of the weekend though goes to Andrew Cullingham, who absolutely blew up in the field in his first race in cat 3 taking the big "W" in the group sprint. Get your autographs before he turns pro. Also turning heads was Eric johnston dominating the field in cat 5 taking home another win in his respective category for synergy.

Off to Canmore for the next weekend to test the lungs at the iron lung mtb bike race. Not only was the weather beyond hot, the course was technical and hilly including a section of pump tracks and jumps. Again, Caeli ripped up the course and missed the podium by one but landing fourth in the womens expert category. Elise Walsh looked strong as she stole silver in the womens novice youth category. The surprise of the weekend goes to CP as he rolled up saturday morning looking like a champ on a brand new mountain bike. way to rip it up cp! Try as i might, i still dont have the legs as some of the big boys out there but managed to land  14th in the mens elite field. Smiles all around on a beautiful saturday in Canmore.

Banff Bife Fest attracted some of the best riders in the country and lived up to its name this past weekend. The roads were fast and crashes were frequent. Mark McConnel destroyed cat 4 by winning the prologue and Graham brought his "A" game as he flew into fourth in the mens cat 2/3 category. I still had synergy in my heart all week although i was racing for CMC/ Bow Cycle and did my best to rep the colours of the club as i managed to place 12th in the invited mens 1A road race.

We are truly into racing season now. As i update the blog i'm getting ready to head off to nationals in edmonton this weekend and best of luck to everyone in the upcoming races.

Let me know if i'm missing any results.

till next time, Bailey
